Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MSP Alasdair Allan has welcomed the news that Carloway Community Association has been awarded a grant of £74,758 to purchase the former Carloway Primary School from Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

Alasdair Allan MSP commented:

“It is very encouraging to see the community’s ambitions for the former school and the support it has received from both the local residents and families alike.

“Carloway is a great example of the vibrant sense of community alive throughout the isles, with numerous communities being supported via the Scottish Government’s Scottish Land Fund.

“I am delighted to see the school being brought back into the hands of a very enthusiastic community and I look forward to seeing it develop and become a real hub for locals.”
